Sheryl was very informative and engaging throughout the tour and there were lots of Alpacas to see! The acreage was big and all of us had a good opportunity to feed and cuddle and alpacas. Took lots of photos and learnt so much about alpacas from Sheryl’s tour. You get to meet the older alpacas, junior alpacas, and the pregnant ones! The alpacas were all very friendly. Tour price was also good compared to other farms ($30pp).
They also have a shop selling a variety of 100% Alpaca clothing and accessories (NZ yarn and manufactured in Peru). Highly recommend for overseas visitors
Me and my husband from Hong Kong spent a brilliant time in this alpaca farm! The host is super friendly and shared a lot of things about the farm and those lovely alpacas! Also we got some yarn from the store with a very good price (also quality). Highly recommend to place a visit if you are around.
Absolutely Amazing Experience at Sherlin Alpacas
We had the most incredible time at Sherlin Alpacas! From the moment we arrived, it was clear how much Sheryl loves her alpacas. Her passion and knowledge shone through during the farm tour, and we learned so much about these wonderful animals.
What makes this farm so special is not just its beautiful setting but also its fascinating history. We were amazed to discover that Sherlin Alpacas is home to champion alpacas, rare grey-colored alpacas, and even one of the first alpacas in New Zealand born via C-section.
The owners were incredibly welcoming, and we felt so at home during our visit. Being able to cuddle the alpacas, learn their names, and get to know their unique personalities was such a heartwarming experience.
This is truly one of the best alpaca farms in New Zealand, and we are so grateful for the unforgettable experience. It left our hearts full and our spirits lifted. We’ll definitely be coming back and bringing our friends along to share this amazing experience. If you’re looking for something soul-nourishing, we highly recommend a visit to Sherlin Alpacas!
I organised a bus load of girls for a surprise visit Sherlin for a hens do and we had the best experience ever! Fantastic communication in the lead up and so great on the day. We loved getting to feed and pat them and even in the middle of winter we weren't cold or muddy. We learnt lots of alpaca facts and enjoyed browsing the shop.
Many of us are wanting to go back again :)
